szean Posted December 28, 2010 Share Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) Alright i have bugs in my last part of DA. The final battle. Background of DA:Female, GreyWarden. Right after the Landsmeet, my result was to put Alistair and Anora together. I continued playing. Bug:Next, I went to RedCliffe and proceed the story. After killing the darkspawns, i entered the castle. The bugs started here. There is some conversation that required Alistair in the dialogue, but only voice was heard, none of his appearance were on my screen. Same thing happened when I approached Riordan. Suppose, there should be my character and Alistair in the conversation about being a grey warden. Only voice of Alistair could be heard. None of his appearance was on my screen. I continued on playing. Went to look for morrigan and i accepted her offer but Alistair could not be found. See image, I rejected that offer and the story proceeds with bugs ! http://i575.photobucket.com/albums/ss198/sz3an/Dragon%20age/Bug1.png Well, right after the cut scene of the final battle, i was brought to a hill with two npc beside my character - Eamon and Rido. And there is no darkspawn in the forest. I could walk past anything. Help needed here. * the cut scene did not play fully if i remembed correctly. By the way, if you are wondering the potion in my image and the arrows in the quickbar, im just using maximum slot pack in DA so i can load up as many items i like and the extra quick bar. What other mods do you have installed besides inventory and quickbar expansions? I don't recognize the areas in your last few screenshots, (or Rido, for that matter) and I've played through at least a dozen times. :laugh: (Tip for future: When you have lots of screenshots, use the [ spoiler ] ... szean Posted December 28, 2010 Author Share Posted December 28, 2010 Hello Thandal, Well, it would take years to tell you all the mods. but i can tell you the two major mods that i installed. and i noticed that you cannot recognise the bug. it because DA loaded the wrong scene after the final battle cut scene? Mods installed:- loot and gamebalance- improved atmosphere- flash creature rescale- dalls creature rescale by the way, thanks for the help, no one reply since afternoon. Thx!] Well, as I always recommend when starting to solve a problem that breaks the game so compeletely: a. Disable or remove ALL mods by unchecking those that are selectable from the "Installed Content" menu, and just cut-n-paste your entire "...\packages\core\override" folder to another location. b. Reload last "good" save (using "Forceload, since you've removed a lot of things that were in-use when the save was made.) c. Make another save as close as possible to the point where you believe the issue first appeared. d. Play until you are able to determine if the problem still exists. e. If problem went away, you know it was caused by a mod and can start putting them back, probably in big batches since you'll know that most of them had nothing to do with the issue. f. Test frequently to determine when the issue returns. g. Save after each successful test of a batch of mods h. If problem still exists with ZERO mods active, then it's time for more robust diagnostic techniques, but at least you know it wasn't being caused by the mods. :laugh: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The "spolier tag" means to put the "spoiler" bbcode (google the term for more info) on either side of the material you want to effect. So in this case, at the start of your screenshots you would put "[ spoiler ]" WITHOUT a "space" between the opening and closing brackets, (but if I do that here it will become the tag I'm trying to describe) to indicate the START OF SPOILER. This will hide everything that follows until you "close" the tag. Then after your screenshots, you would put "[ /spoiler ]" (again without the spaces inserted) to indicate the END OF SPOILER. Well, back to DA, give me some time to follow your instructions. I might take weeks but if the problem is solved, i will inform you.Shouldn't take you weeks to determine where the problem is. Checking if it's a mod at all is a 15-minute task if you have a save made anywhere near the point of the trouble. Again, -- UNCHECK all non-BioWare items on the "Installed Content" menu-- Cut-n-paste your "...\packages\core\overrride" folder somewhere else (like your desktop. But make a note of where you found it, so you can reverse the cut-n-paste when you're done.)-- Forceload the last Save made at a point before the problem occurs-- Play until problem occurs (or more likely, doesn't!) With that much information, you can start figuring out what mod might be the culprit because you've determined that it IS a mod. Until you're sure there isn't some other issue causing the problem, you could search the mods forever trying to find something that isn't there. Removing mods will, obviously, remove whatever they added. Unless you have mods that add whole AREAS or NPCs, the worst that might happen is some items won't be there when you Forceload the save. This occurs most often with the "no-helmet" and item colouring (which makes the items into "sets") or other inventory-changing mods. But it doesn't matter. You're not playing, you're troubleshooting. When you figure out the problem and re-activate/re-install the mods and then re-load the same save, everything is back the way it was.
