Are mods for DA going to run on game bought on steam

I wonder if mods will run on a version of the Dragon Age from steam (online store). I'm thinking about buying the game on steam. I don't wanna buy the game, and then learn that it isn't compatible with the mods which greatly enhance the game.m

Maybe perhaps it is better to buy the game in traditional way - game in the box?

Some of the file directories are different in the steam version than the disk version. Which makes some mods not install correctly if they are installed with an installer rather than manually installed.

Most people that mod out their games prefer the disk versions of the game for that very reason.

I just got the Steam version myself, and I will say yes they work. Installers obviously need to be pointed at the correct folder to work(like dragon age redesigned). Otherwise, no hiccups so far. I owned the game previously on PS3 and I've made the jump to PC for the mods, better performance, and better controls. I'm so glad too, I was getting tired of the prudish sex scenes where Morrigan puts ON a bra.
