drithius
Call me obsessive, this has always kind of nagged at me, creating new editor IDs alphabetized out of FormID sequence. Is there some way to batch alphabetize new data in a plugin prior to initial publication?
Gribbleshnibit8
FNVEdit comes with a Renumber FormID script that lets you select a bunch of forms and give them a new number to start with, and they'll all get assigned ascending from there. Other than that not quite following what you want.
drithius
Aye, I knew about the script, but I had never paid much mind to it, having mostly used the context menu's single ID version. Your post prompted me to try alpha-sorting a pre-selected group of IDs and then using the script on their alphabetized listing... and it works like a charm! It's for stuff like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9aqk0ol63znep5l/Screenshot%202015-05-03%2001.53.24.png?dl=0, albeit for files not yet distributed. Thanks for the nudge, Gribble ;) It's always nagged at me when I create a lot of records.
Gribbleshnibit8
I obsess over leaving 'holes' in my FormID counts when I make something and realize I don't need it, or when placing records in a cell and then later removing stuff. I've lately been able to get over it in regards to very large form count mods, knowing it'll happen at some point, but when there's a dozen or fewer records I usually go back and fix it.
