Items added by mods

Basically I have a couple of mods that work by adding the item to the character the first time it is loaded and that's it. Unlike some other mods, which add their items to several merchants, I don't know of any way to get more of these items (for use by several party members, for dual wielding, etc.). I skimmed a few pages in this Mod Troubleshooting section but I haven't seen this come up before, though I did see the complete opposite (people with mods that keep adding an item every time a game is loaded resulting in unwanted duplicates). I've looked around for a bit before I resorted to asking this here and so far nothing has worked.

I read that things like this concern the script of the mod and that the way to resolve such things is by editing it myself or asking the author to do it for me. Problem is that the mod is relatively old and I don't think the author updates or checks the mod anymore. Also, I'm not a modder so I don't want to have to do anything fiddly like using the toolset, editing the files of the mods, etc. So, I want to know if there is any quick, simple way to make more than one of these items (perhaps some glitch or workaround, a quick command using the console, a mod, etc.). Thanks in advance.

Hiyas pacholo :)

You've been around for a lil while now, but on your first post, let me say Welcome to the Nexus! :)

Sir A released a mod that scans your folders for mods and then allows you to add them to the game. I have not however used his mod yet, and do not know how simple it would be to use. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1825

The other alternative would be, as you mentioned, to either edit the existing scripts to include more of these items at the time of spawn, or to create a new console script to add the items manually.

A console script is very easy to do, however you DO have to use the toolset in order to compile the script. And need to know the filenames such as "thisswordname.uti" which means cracking open the .erf files for the mod in the toolset.

I'd recommend giving SirA's mod a go and see how well that works out for you ;)

Happy gaming!
