homework1997
You just need the dragonborn DLC Nope.If you read the comments he mentioned he used the creation kit to make Alduin mountable. You can't just normally ride Alduin.

Noortje
From his youtube comments I understood that you need to change his voice type to regular dragon. Makes perfect sense actually. Just load him up into the creation kit and change his voice to the regular dragon voice, this would also explain why the dragon isn't talking in the video, Alduin talks all the time. However this does mean he won't talk during the main quest. Edited May 4, 2015 by Noortje

Ceruulean
The voice is probably to make the Quest scripts run (dragon flying is considered a quest) but without the right voice Alduin will not say anything and thus the scripts afterwards will not run. This is just a guess but from the comment I guess that's how you make dragons attack? Also, horses use the ActorTypeHorse keyword to make them ridable, so I think there's a similar keyword for dragons. You'll have to find it if it exists. ReptileBeard12
you have to delete no soul absorb faction for alduin. then he will work for riding.
