Barrett712
I would actually like it to take place in the Hawaiian Islands. i can never find any Lore about Hawaii except that it was part of the Southeastern Commonwealth and i was wondering what kind of a place it is.i sorta want it to be a place where none of the bombs fell on it so after the war, it got cut off with the mainland and continued as a pre-war society. as far as enemies go, maybe there was FEV experiments in the military bases. Pearl Harbor anyone? :]
quicksilverva
my vote is mid-atlantic to south eastern US....lots of military bases (whats Fallout without military installations?) and history and would be lore friendly since the east coast got nuked too. my 2¢ worth
webster63
where to place it i think "Area 51" would be a good choice, its not too far removed from new vegas game and they could reuse most of the textures and mapping stuff. its filled with automated security defense systems and weapondry along with mine fields in places so its a great format to copy. with a new story line a few weird weapons and such, i can see building on top of FONV being a great solution to keep developement time and costs down so more can be devoted to fine tuning and debugging the scripting and game engine. it could also allow the same or simular modding ability so modders wouldnt need to learn a whole new system for modding. Dasim4
After a war like that there probably wouldn't be enough of NY left to do anything in. But it is the first city that came to mind seeing how it was key to a lot of immigration into this country and it definitely has a lot of history and distinguishing landmarks. It's also huge. Not sure though. I was trying to think what area of the country might be interesting to see after a war like that and although some parts seem interesting, nothing really jumps out in my mind as a good place for the game. SoMBiE
California, absolutely. I'd like to see silicon valley reduces to ashes and rubble. San Francisco also. All the Japanese population have responded to the radiation becoming ghouls that feed on human sushi therefore inventing an new California cuisine. Blow up Electronic Arts and all the digital graphic industries. While destroying Industrial Light and Magic might as well burn all of the Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino vineyards. Blame it on Schwarzenegger. I'm not venting, just thinking of ideas.
IronToastBot
I think Fallout: New York sounds good. Lots of ghouls, lots of super mutants, and less big city, more hostile anarchy. Have the half-sunken statue of liberty, the beautiful iconic 1950s style, and a strong storyline. Big, Dangerous, Urban. those are the three things I'm looking forward to. Oh and how about some actual free roaming, none of this impassible ruins. Edited January 14, 2011 by IronToastBot
falloutfan421
Personally, I think all the people who want online in a Fallout game should wait for the actual FALLOUT ONLINE game! It surely wont be too much longer, they already have beta testing going on right now, so that means they are adding all the scripted events. You want an online fallout on consoles? Play Borderlands. Its fallout with more cartoony graphics, and multiplayer. Not as well done, no, but its good enough to play with friends. Terrible single player though. Probably because of the multiplayer, and all the focus they put on that instead of gameplay.
TotallyNotToastyFresh
Australia. Please. Make it Australia, I want to see what the Sydney Harbor Bridge would look like after 200 years of post apocalyptic horror. Or Venice. Post apocalyptic Venice. Firewoodmix
"Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter." Is this a clue? maybe theyve already decided? o_O
