Thandal
Hi.Hey again, Gamer21; Do I have to play the DLC in any specific order?Or can I just play whichever one i want to play first then play another? Short answer is, "You can play them in any order."The "official" chronology goes: DA:O, (with TSP, RtO, and WK occurring within the span of the OC) then DA:A, GoA, and finally WH. LS takes place totally outside, (as in before) this timeline.(And as for "The DLC Which Must Not Be Named"? Doesn't matter, since it Never Happened! http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/laugh.gif )And so the longer answer is: "You cannot IMPORT a Warden from a save made in a 'later' module backwards to an earlier one."One could PLAY them out of order, but (without hacking the savedgame files) you won't be able to use "your" Warden who completed GoA or WH in DA:A. When you start each campaign, you'll either have to start a new PC, or import your Warden from a save made in an "earlier" module. And could I transer my weapons and stuff i get from the DLC into Awakenings?Depends on which items you mean. The DLC-related "Bonus Items" (for completing the campaign) do transfer to both DA:O and DA:A. And they can significantly change the whole nature of your experience, (for the worse, I think, if you do things this way your first time through.)SOME, but not all of the in-game, DLC-related items are "restricted" to that specific campaign, ("Starfang" being one of the well-known examples.) But there is a mod out there that can edit the Properties Table of many of the early DA:O/DLC items to activate them in DA:A.And some of this "Hey!? Where'd my stuff go?!?" behavior was fixed with game patch 1.04, so it's really an item-by-item issue.
gamer21fizzy
thx thandal. does witch hunt actually take place after awakenings?
Thandal
thx thandal.does witch hunt actually take place after awakenings? Since any of the DLC only "takes place" if you play it, "actually" doesn't mean anything here. http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/laugh.gifThe unofficially-official chronology is as follows:DA:O 12-18 months, (maybe longer, if the time needed to accomplish TSP, RTO, and WK is to be accounted for?) It begins in the 30th year of "the Dragon Age" (so "9:30 Dragon".)... TSP any time (after the Warden left Lothering) within the period of DA:O.... RTO any time (after the Warden left Lothering) within the period of DA:O.... WK any time (after the Warden left Lothering) within the period of DA:O.DA:A approx 6-months after end of DA:O, lasts maybe 3-6 months (so approx. "9:31 or 32 Dragon".)WH only takes a few weeks, around 1-2 years after the end of DA:O (so approx. "9:32 to 34 Dragon".)GoA indeterminate, but bounded by: Must be after DA:O. Can be after DA:A. Probably before WH.LS over 2 years before DA:O (so approx. "9:28 Dragon".)DA2 Must begin before the sacking of Lothering, and probably after Battle of Ostagar (so "9:30 Dragon" as well.) Lasts for approx. 10 years!

Thandal
thx again thandal, one more question  do i have to buy/get the download content before i start the game? or can i start my game/create character etc. and buy/get the download content during gameplay?Any and all of the DLC can be obtained at any point. None of it actually "appears instantly" in-game. There's a whole "Get BioWare Points, use them to obtain DLC, actually get the download, 'activate' the DLC, then get back into the game" process. Playing TSP during your DA:O campaign is much more fun than if you do it later. In fact, it's the only one that I consider a "must have". And the only one where doing it as early as possible makes any real difference. All the rest can wait until whatever point you care to experience them. gamer21fizzy
thanks a bunch thandal, just one more question, it's actually a continuation of the above question. can i activate the download content during gameplay ? or do certain download contents require me to activate download content before i create a character and start playing? Thandal
thanks a bunch thandal, just one more question, it's actually a continuation of the above question. can i activate the download content during gameplay ? or do certain download contents require me to activate download content before i create a character and start playing? There's no requirement to download and install any DLC before creating a character. All the DLC in which your Warden can exist, (and two don't allow it) are designed to integrate any of your PCs into the game, but none require you to use your Warden at all. You "authorize" ("validate", "activate", different people call it different things) the DLC at the time that you download it by logging-in to your EA account within the game. Whether or not you "Enable" any of them for use (by ticking or unticking the box on the "Installed Content" tab next to the each one) is up to you. So, "Yes, you do this in-game", since you have to start the game to get to that screen. But "No, you aren't PLAYING the game" when you enable any DLCs. But it's not like "in-game" or "out-of-game" matters. The DLC are pretty much self-contained modules. TSP is the only one that makes any on-going difference because it adds a permanent Companion. (Well, WK does give you a Party Storage Chest, but that's pretty minor.) (Even BioWare's one attempt at making something that occurs "in-game" by using the NPC to inform the player about an available DLC fell kind of flat. One still has to exit the "game" part of the game to get it all working.)
