Ultimate Edition Console Not possible?

I had a standard Origin cd that I bought when it first came out,

 

but I seemed to have lost it somehow, so I bought the ultimate edition via Steam few days ago,

 

and I can't get the console working at all. Is it because it's a whole new game compared to the

 

other versions...? I tried some trainers from gamecopyworld just to see if it's the game's version,

 

and the 1.04 trainers didn't do anything at all, so... anyone got an answer for me?

Did you create the shortcut for DA and update the properties, then update the Key Bindings?

Others have reported difficulty getting the Console to activate inside the Steam version. Are you sure you've edited the shotcut's command line entry correctly to account for where Steam places things?

 

I don't use Steam for anything (if I can help it) so I'm not sure of the exact changes you'd have to make to either the command line or the key-bindings. :confused:

 

Maybe someone who uses this version and has had success can reply?

The only method that worked for me to get the console on Steam version of UE was to add 'argument="-enabledeveloperconsole"' to the DAOriginsLauncher.xml (as described in Dragon Age Wiki Console). All other suggested methods did not work.

Only editing the XML works with Ultimate Edition on Steam. I had quite a bit of trouble finding it. I was looking in the folders the mods go in trying to find it.

Just to be clear it's the one in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dragon age ultimate edition\data
