Total Noob Needs Assistance

I am trying to make a totally new model for oblivion. I wish not to change existing models but to add new ones. What I am trying to make is a simple box that the player can see, run into and stand on without going through. I have access to autocad, 3ds max, and nifscope. do I need anything else? So far, I have been able to build a box and insert it into the game. It is oddly colored (not too woried about that right now) and intangible. This intangibility is the primary concern.

How do I build a collision box and apply it to the model?

If I want to make the model Havok enabled, how would I go about that?

Can I anchor a havok enabled oject to a static object making a lid or a door?

Any info you can give me about doing this or tell me where I can find this info would be greatly appreciated.

The easiest way is to copy your mesh into an existing game mesh that has the right size/shape of collision boxes, then delete the original mesh. Making one from scratch in 3dsMax... Hmm. Try niftools here, they support Max more than anything else (everyone does, really):

I can't speak to whether or not you can make doors/lids that way. I think the game generally uses a plain old collision mesh to make an opening door and a script to make it swing open/closed. There is more script information than most people could possibly use on the CS Wiki:
