Deathykins Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 So I recently downloaded a new set of armor, but it has no defense what-so-ever. So, obviously, I'm taking quite a lot of damage. I looked up to see if I could equip armor purely as a cosmetic, but found nothing, but someone said you can change armor's stats so that you can just wear what you want. So, I was wondering, how do I go about making this armor worth using instead of just a flashy cosmetic?
nwnicwilli Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 You will need:Oblivion Construction Set (if you don't) Steps:1) Open it, of course.2) File > Data > check the mod that adds the armor > OK3) In the "Items" window, click the "Items" button and then click Armor.4) Find your armor, right click on it, click edit.5) There will be a field titled Armor Rating or AR, something or other. Change that to whatever you want.6) Save and enjoy.
Deathykins Posted January 1, 2011 Author Posted January 1, 2011 Thank you very much for your reply. But I followed your instructions, but when I go to the armor tab, I simply cannot find the armor I added via the mod (even after checking it in the Data tab.) I may just be blind, though. But the armor I added is: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24327
Deathykins Posted January 1, 2011 Author Posted January 1, 2011 Nevermind, I found it. Turns out that it's clothing at not armor. I feel kind of stupid now. x_x
Kikonda Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Thank you, you also helped me out, I used to think AR was aspect ratio for some odd reason
Sarissi Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 You can add the equivalent of AR using enchantments like Reflect Damage, Shield, Block. You will need to use the Construction Set. In the Mod file, create an EnApp(EnchantmentName) and add the enchantments of your choice, along with the magnitude of them. Save the enchantment and go to the clothing, and then select your enchantment, save, save the mod and exit the construction set. Be sure to place the mod exactly where it was in your load order.
