Megatarius Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Are these necessary? Can I just not install them? I already use body replacers, and I've done a lot of work modifying them and modifying clothes to go with them. I don't want to use the ones that come with Deadly Reflex. But are they necessary for certain animations like cutting in half and stuff like that? Will it break the mod if I just don't install them? What do other people do? Pretty much everyone uses body replacers of some kind or another. Do you just say screw it and go with whatever kind of body Sky Captain provided? I really don't want to do that. It kinda burns me up that this mod, which I (and most everyone else) have been waiting eagerly for, is not compatible with something so simple as body replacers.
LFact Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) Just ignore it, delete it from the package. I heard it was included accidentally. Or, install DR, then install body replacer you're using again. Edited January 1, 2011 by LFact
Megatarius Posted January 1, 2011 Author Posted January 1, 2011 Thanks. I had a lot of trouble with DR 5 and ultimately had to stop using its awesomeness. Seeing those body replacer meshes was like a slap in the face.
SylvanRuin Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Just note that if you aren't using Deadly Relex's body meshes, the Combustive Convulsion spell will most likely not work. Every time I use it, the game gets confused and crashes. Because I use a separate body replacer. Just thought I'd pitch in cos I know something for once :teehee:
documn Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Are you talking about DR5 or DR6? I heard that a body replacer was accidentally packaged in the DR6 beta.
Megatarius Posted January 8, 2011 Author Posted January 8, 2011 Yeah, I'm talking about DR 6. There is a body replacer in it. It's a lot different than the one I use (Robert's Female). It looks like HGEC. That's great if that's what you use, but I don't.
storminmormon Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Just ignore it, delete it from the package. I heard it was included accidentally. Or, install DR, then install body replacer you're using again. I've already got DR installed, I was oblivious to the unwanted body meshes. Should I just delete the body meshes from the archive and reinstall, or just hunt the buggers down in the Oblivion\Data file? I'm not really savvy enough to know whether that would gum up my saves... Just note that if you aren't using Deadly Relex's body meshes, the Combustive Convulsion spell will most likely not work. Every time I use it, the game gets confused and crashes. Because I use a separate body replacer. Uhm, do you mean DR 6 or 5? I see the readme says it's there, but Combust isn't in my game. Besides OOO, I have no other mods, really, and DR's esps load last... do they even conflict? Anyway, my real question there is, if Combust conflicts, will beheading and other DR body mesh effects not work either?
Megatarius Posted January 28, 2011 Author Posted January 28, 2011 (edited) @storminmormon: If you don't like those body meshes, hunt them down in your Data folder and delete them. The game will then revert back to the originals. You did not actually replace those. They're in the meshes.bsa file and the game will read them from that. If you want your preferred body replacer, simply reinstall that, or take the .nif files you want out of the archive and place them in your data folder. The location is Data/meshes/characters/_male. Even for the females. The bee in my bonnet was that I thought I needed to use those for the mod to work. I don't, thank God. Edited January 28, 2011 by Megatarius
