Hey everyone;

Since my joining years ago and even longer if we count "lurking anonymously" period i used a lot of mods, 99% of them were from Nexus. I'm really glad that i found this site and its great modders.

I mostly don't even check the "retail" version and directly include mods that i like to most games.

At the Valve's problematic period of selling mods i protested. It got removed but my protest wasn't only about "paying for mods", it was mostly that developers and Valve would get money with no effort involved.

And even it failed it started me thinking. From communistic(art is for people and should be free) view to "Modders should get money" to "Valve even deserves some since we'd use its download servers"

Still not sure about anything except modders deserve recognition and some money.

Anyway in short i really wanted to and still want to tip modders. But my main concern is living a third world country i probably can't be able to tip generously even if i want to.

Most mods here worth more than DLC's yet i got them via packages like GOTY/Gold/Collection editions and mostly on 75% off or something. So "You're buying DLCs though" doesn't apply to me.

Also i'm in confusion at "stating the price". There are overhauls(Most famous and obvious example is Counter Strike) and there are basic reskins, even ini tweaks.

So my suggestion is tipping Nexus directly and they deliver the amount according to the mods we endorsed. Also it might be possible to do what Humble Bundle does, like we're choosing how much goes where.

Maybe it can be random, maybe it can be splitted equally, i'm not sure.

This way there won't be a pay barrier between modders and players yet people who'd like to support them but lacking money or don't want to state a price can help modders.

TLDR: I really want to support modders but since i have no idea how much their work worth and i have no intention to declare their prices i came up tipping the Nexus(something like putting in a tipbox like in restaurant) where it should be shared appropriately to one's endorsments, random, equally or according to their choices.

PS: I'm not a modder myself, just to record.
