Guest Tessera Posted October 30, 2006 Share Posted October 30, 2006 This sounds suspiciously like the "Baurus bug." Is it every NPC in the game, or just him..? The reason I ask is because there's a known bug that happens to the "Baurus" character, during the main quest. He'll freeze up, yet still talk when you activate him... although his mouth doesn't move and his face is frozen. This seems to begin in Luther's Boarding House, right after you get the first book from the Mythic Dawn agent in the basement encounter. Anyway, if this happens to be the same problem that you've been having, I handle it this way when it happens to me: First, I literally push Baurus towards the door to the boarding house, after he says "I know that part of the sewers.. blah blah blah." When he gets close enough to the door, he usually exits. When I get outside, he usually begins walking towards the sewers, exactly as he is supposed to do. If he freezes up again, no problem... ...I just whack him with my sword and knock him unconscious... LOL. When he gets up again, he usually resumes walking and continues the trip through the sewers. Each time he freezes up, I just whack him again. After awhile, it becomes rather comical, to say the least. Eventually, I manage to nudge him along to the meeting with the Mythic Dawn agents, but by that time he's been so severely beaten (by me) that there's no way for him to survive the fight that ensues in that scene. That kinda sucks, because if he *does* survive, he offers to give you some advanced training later on in the game. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Sounds like a problem from one of your mods. Try a fresh re-installation of the game and keep in mind that not every mod is a well-done one.
