Basic need to knows of 3D modelling in sketchup and *.dae importing:

Yo. I'm V, and i'm just getting into modifying Oblivion and NV with some of my own models. But i've found a few problems:

 

I don't know the specifics of size in sketchup, although i read somewhere that 100mm is roughly shoulder span, and that is what i've based all the models i have made, over the past while, on. So before i go any further with my model making i wanted to ask if there is a general size for making melee weapons in oblivion?

 

e.g. Hilt: 40 mm length, 12 mm diameter, blah blah blah, blade/stick/mourning star, etc. length, diameter, space away from hilt/guard,pommel,etc.

 

 

There is also the case of importing as *.dae files in blender, i have got "python 2.6.6", "daeImport1.1.1 and even "colladda_blender_0_1_539" and have tried all of them together and seperately, but i always have the same problem... It gives me errors about why it cannot open or import .dae's... :/ This one is agitiating, for i have all the necessary files, but i may lack the knowledge of where they need to be placed or installed, etc... i'm going to delete them all tomorrow and re-try, but before that i'm going to see if any of you people can help me with my dilema's...
