Fallout 1 and 2

I know this may not be the most related topic, but I think Fallout 1 and 2 should be remade by Bethesda. Most people I know started off with Fallout 3, and have no idea who The Master is, or where Arroyo is, or even who the original Vault Dweller is. I think Bethesda needs to remake it because players need a background on the games they are playing, and it would make loyal fans enjoy the remake. Hell, I would even be happy if they put Fallout 1 and 2 in the same game, or made them as DLC. Our players just need background, not to just blindly go after Super Mutants without knowing where or who they came from.

Most people rather not knowing about the back story, some just like killing muties and having fun. I personally started with Fallout 3 but then I got obsessed with it and upon the release of New Vegas it got me interested in the whole story. I done so much researching about all the factions and where Fallout started, I practically know everything thats been released about all the factions. But remaking Fallout 1 & 2 might cancel out any further games that are coming out later and may confuse a lot of people. Maybe, when they have covered all the history of Fallout they may take into mind where they remake some of their old games.

Maybe. I am still pissed that they only released Dead Money on xbox instead of on PC (Which is the system most Fallout fans use).

I have a suggestion, how about players play the original games as they were intended?

This.

There's really no need to remake the old games since they're still widely available and perfectly good games in their own right. And it's not very likely that Bethesda would spend money and man hours on something that would be of extremely marginal interest to most people.

No, sorry but no. Personally I need at least good graphics to play a game.

I cant replay any old games, they too ugly for my tastes, I had F:NV since day one and i waited till yesterday to play becuase i collected textures modes and new skins that made the game look better (not some kiddy porn mods or big boobs, but enhancements like A4 and NMC textures)

I tried, I really did. Bought them from GOG.com just after FONV came out but, with the odd controls, isomorphic view and tiny characters, I just can't get past the first few minutes of Fallout 1. I'm pretty much back to FO3 full time now.

Remaking the first two games would be a tremendous mistake because the games are special in their own right. I play quite a few older games with crappy graphics but great gameplay (Morrowind, Max Payne 1, and Far Cry 1 come to mind) and I have a blast playing them.

However, I DID get the Fallout Classic Collection for Christmas which includes the original 2 games as well as Tactics, and I got it so I could enjoy the entire series as a whole and experience what all the "old-school" fans have experienced. I have the patience, and i guess the appreciation, for older games in which the foundation was built for the current Fallout games. Granted I have yet to install them because I'm working on a machinima at the moment, but once I can get a suitable break from that, I'm going to check them out.
