2 Companion related problems

Hi,

I ran into 2 problems when trying to port a companion I edited for Fallout 3 to New Vegas. I used GECK and NVEDIT and used the same meshes and textures as I did for FO3.

#1: In FO3 body and head tone match match very well all the time (except for the little neck seam seen everywhere, which is no problem thanks to a collar). In New Vegas, however, the body most often is much too light, only sometimes (Goodsprings saloon) they match like in FO3. The race is a custom race for the companion with its own meshes and textures, I tried turning the mod into an esm and checked "can be all races". Both did not work. Any ideas what I can do? Nifscope work would be no problem but I do not know what to change, the paths are all right.

#2: The companion never says hello to other npcs if in following mode (only when sandboxing) and mostly stares straight ahead when greeted by NPCs. Any possible changes to the AI Packages or is this always the case with follow packages? I remember the practically same companion to be more active, e.g. saying hello to Moira. I copied the nv.esm hello dialog record into the mod, added 6 different hello dialog variants all flagged random. Any clue what to do?

Cheers

About #1:

Seems I messed up the shader settings when tweaking the meshes. After I reset them the .esm workaround (marking a mod as esm) makes the body and head tones match again.

However, is there any way to get matching body and skin with custom race and meshes without marking the file as esm?
