Rebelicious
I'm trying to find an up-to-date combination of Better Cities and Open Cities. But the Open Better Cities mod is marked as Old ("Old Open Better Cities") and the comments locked down. It received it's last update in May 2008. It makes mention that it will slowly be incorporated into the main Better Cities mod. But the main Better Cities mod had it's last update in April 2008 and makes no mention of having incorporated any part of Open Cities or Open Better Cities. So what should I aim at getting here? :(

chaospearl
I don't know where you're getting the idea that the main Better Cities mod was last updated in early 2008. I think its last update was... um, last week. If not, just wait a few days and there'll be another update. The BC team releases updates so damn often I sometimes wonder if they're secretly robots. Sometimes I haven't even finished downloading the last update before it's already obsolete. That mod is probably, no joke or exaggeration, THE most frequently-updated mod on the Nexus. The latest Better Cities does indeed incorporate a lot of Open Cities. You can toggle on and off the Open-ness of many of the cities. No separate download or any extra files. You just install the mod as usual and its in-game menu lets you toggle Open Cities status for each city on and off and on and off at your leisure, so you can choose any combination of closed and open cities. I'm not certain which cities are included so far... Skingrad for sure, and at least two or three other cities are currently toggleable. The others are likely coming soon, and I mean soon as in "don't blink," judging by the rate at which BC gets updated.
