I would love to offer the player some loot which would prove useful throughout the game, yet is not a weapon or armor. Many of us undoubtedly play mods such as World of Pain; there are plenty of custom armor and weapon items both there and in other places. I am looking to offer something more...unique. So far the 'loot' items are recipe notes, sort of like Schematics from FO3. These notes enable you to create some cool, unique items, such as: -Triage Kit: Doctor's Bag which can be used 4 times before supplies run out. Must be outside of combat and standing still to use it. -Reload Kit: Just what it says, a mobile reload "bench." Drop and sneak-activate to use outside of combat. Activate as normal to pick up. -Shield Generator/Advanced Shield Generator: Increased DT for several minutes, at the cost of 1 Fission Battery per use. (This mod lowers the weight of Fission Batteries to 2 lbs/units to make this actually useful.) Inspired by Borderlands, a game I like far more than I should. -Custom Version of the Themic Lance (okay, so 1 item is a weapon, but its not a gun, which is a nice change.) "Lance-a-Lot" has a chance for "Mighty Cleavage" (trying to keep with the corny humor found in game) which will recoil opponents on strike. The chance is based on your Strength and caps at an 80% chance for someone who has a full 10 points in Strength. Get that Buffout ready! This weapon can also use Hammers, Whetstones, Bumper Swords, Lawnmower Blades and regular Themic Lances for repair, for realism. What I would like from the community: Ideas for unique loot. Preferably, of the non-weapon variety and definitely of the non-gun variety. (Unless the gun effect is something very unique and cool.) Please let me know what you think of the idea, and post any suggestions for custom loot. I will continue brainstorming as well. Thanks for stopping by. Staghound Posted January 5, 2011 Share Posted January 5, 2011 How about a 'Fax Mactor' make-up kit - a beautician's bag which can be used say four times to give a +1 bonus to charisma for 24 hours. (Female characters only). Insect repellent : an aerosol spray can with limited charges which will cause ants, radroaches, scorpions, etc. to flee when they get sprayed (a melee weapon, very short range, but could be a life-saver in an emergency!). The Junkies Glasses - While equipped, all withdrawal effects from any addiction are ignored, once unequipped, withdrawal effects are resumed. I've wanted to see items like the Lucky 8Ball from F3, but expanding upon that and having items for all player attributes(Medicine, Guns, Intelligence etc).Some Ideas & Examples:specialDumbbell- When in players inventory, they receive +1 Strength.Old Man's Glasses- When in players inventory, they receive +1 Perception.Junkies Syringe- When in players inventory, they receive +1 Endurance.Pearly White Dentures- When in players inventory, they receive +1 Charisma.Book of Smarts- When in players inventory, they receive +1 Intelligence.Running Shoes- When in players inventory, they receive +1 Agility.Lucky 8 Ball- When in players inventory, they receive +1 Luck. Salesman Handbook- When in players inventory, they receive +5 Barter.Skeleton Key- When in players inventory, they receive +5 Lock pick.Hard Drive- When in players inventory, they receive +5 Scienceetc. But you would have to have some kind of weight to most of the items so the player has to make choices to what he wants to lug around and what he doesn't.
