jniebaum32
Is there a Way to remove all the grass textures from the game?
Abramul
Do you mean the ground textures, or the vertical grass? There's a setting in the .ini that would prevent any grass from showing up. Don't remember what it is, but as I recall it should be pretty obvious. If you want to replace the ground texture, I'm not sure how you'd do that, but I'd guess it would be the same way a texture replacer is set up. jniebaum32
Remove them all is what I'm looking for. I don't need the grass to show it just kills my framerate. EDIT: I found what you were talking about. its "DoDrawTallGrass" I set it to 0. Also there is an entire section in it that is dedicated just got the grass. if you set them all to Zero it removes most but not all the grass. hajaflaba
If you open the cheat console (top left hand corner of most keyboards, ` or ~ key) and type "tg" with no quotes it removes all the grass from the game until you reload it I believe. Guest Tessera
I'm going to assume that what you wanna do is remove ALL grass from the gameworld PERMANENTLY, right..? I figure you wish to do this because you're suffering from poor framerates... If you do, indeed, wish to simply remove ALL grass from the game, then do the following: (1) Open the working copy of your Oblivion.ini file. This file is usually located in the C:\Documents and Settings\***current user***\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion folder on your boot drive. Use Notepad to do this. (2) Search for a line that says bDrawShaderGrass=1 and change the value from "1" to "0" so that it reads bDrawShaderGrass=0 (3) Save the file and exit Notepad. Re-start Oblivion to see the change you just made. All grass should now be gone... from the entire gameworld. This will look rather unnatural, but your performance will increase very noticeably... so if you can live with the way it looks, then by all means try this out.
