Percymazing
So lately i've been having trouble downloading new mods. I can get the files easy enough, but they all seem to be in the GECK format and none in fomod. I've been looking at all their descriptions and comments and only use files with quite a few endorsements but still, on several occasions i've gotten the meshes textures and GECK files with no .bsa archives whatsoever for my FOMM to package and use. Can anyone provide some insight into this issue?
WastelandAssassin
of course you aren't getting fomod files, or BSA archivesmost of the modders don't release mods in this formatwhat you are getting is folders (such as meshes, textures etc) and plugins (esp and esm files) now, there are two ways for you to handle thisthe first is to install the mod manually, which means copying all the contents of the mod into your data folder, and then checking the plugins in FOMMthis is a simple way, and works quite well, but makes removing mods a big issue the other way could make FOMM take longer to load (it happened to me with Oblivion, so i assume it's the same with Fallout), but makes removing mod a piece of cakewhen you download a mod, you get an archive (zip, rar, 7zip or such files)just change the extension of the file to fomod, and you should be able to install this just like any fomodit's really that easy
