Mod Organizer Or Not?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have been using MO for a while and I am very happy with my game being so stable for months now. However, these days i am intended to begin scripting lessons by reading/watching tutorials. As I heard with MO installed CK's script compiler is not working...

Is it right?

Is there a way around?

Should I get rid of MO?

Thanks in advance.

Been also using MO for a good while now and the game has been running smooth as butter.

When I'm working on my own projects, I just launch the CK through the normal executable, not through MO.

This way the game is in it's "vanilla" state when editing and scripting.

I've also ran CK through MO a few times and it's worked just fine. Script compiler and everything.

If you really need to use CK through MO and for some reason your compiler is not working, try setting up Notepad++ as your script editor and set up a compiler batch file:

Tutorial here

I for one prefer writing script in notepad++ with the syntax highlighting, better background color and font. With a small tweak, you can bind the compiler batch to a hotkey so it's just as fast as inside the CK.

Good luck with your projects! :)

I've seen people mentioned about setting notepad++ as script editor but i had no clue how to do that  I will try the tutorial, thank you.

For a while I have been updating my Stump Home to be stand alone in my free times and If i can figure it out i want to add few scripted features and make it buyable or add a quest to get it. Where should i begin to study?

For scripting, I'd suggest starting here:

Darkfox127's Skyrim Scripting Tutorial Series

For quests, these ones did the trick for the basic stuff:

BestInSlot's Creation Kit Tutorials

If you want just the quests, scroll down to the 'Quest Dialogue' ones.

Thank you for the help, i really appreciate it.

I did setup my notepad++ as script editor but when i hit the short cut keys that i assigned for compiling a warning comes out and says that "system can not find the stated path". Is it normal?
