KyramGalaar
I would like to add an earring to a character. I know that the earring would be part of the hair mesh but I would like to know how to go about adding an earring to said hair mesh. Maybe point me towards a tutorial that shows how? Honestly, there needs to be more tutorials on how to mod this game. I've only seen, like, three. Maybe two, thinking about it. Or if there are tutorials out there, they need to be easier to find. That would be helpful. Thanks,-KG-
Risibisi
Well, making mods means to fiddle around a lot, a lot of trial and error and there is not always time for writing tutorials. I'm trying to write some at the moment ( one is how to add accessories) but it's a slooooooow process :DYou have to add an extra chunk to a vanilla hair mesh or you use an existing hair mesh with an accessory and replace the accessory with your earring. You will need to work with a 3d programm like Blender or 3dsmax/gmax etc. Edit: You can attach the earring of course to an armour too like it's done with the Flemeth robe. KyramGalaar
So I did, in fact, get an earring to work. I wanted to actually be able to wear the earring Zevran gives you during the romance. Here's Saren, wearing bae's gift: http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j389/KyramGalaar/5538c4c8-e387-4e17-9466-2360fec847cc_zpsrcnpbu2g.jpg He's so happy. Just look at that smile! Thanks for the help.-KG- Edited May 24, 2015 by KyramGalaar
Risibisi
I think I wasn't a big help.. you have figured it out by your own because my infos weren't very detailed. I didn't know how much you know about editing meshes and working with a 3d program :DLooks good! How did you make it? A new chunk or replacing an existing accessory? KyramGalaar
I combined a hair model with an earring with the hair I wanted the earring to be on and deleted the unwanted hair. Then I had to actually line up the earring with the earlobe which, let me tell you, is really hard to do without the head model in the program too. I went back and forth with gmax and the toolset mrh thing. It took me several tries to actually get it working right but that's pretty much what happened. -KG- Edited May 26, 2015 by KyramGalaar
