jedimembrain
Rage has that megatexture thing going .. so its has giant textures on everything in the world .. skyrim shouldnt be any more than fallout 3 or oblivion as far as hard drive space .. it fits on one disk unlike Rage .. Really rage has nothing to do with skyrim .. really no comperison as far as system requirments .. or anything else for that matter o_O
Alcrin
You're taking that way too far. That city is shut to you because of dragon attacks, it doesn't mean they all are and it's already been stated that the cities are not open, they require a loading screen. I didn't mean "open" in terms of cells, I meant in terms of exploration. Being required to collect Twenty Dragon Souls (or do whatever needs to be done to get into the city) to access certain parts of the game map ultimately means you're putting rails on the player. Granted the barriers will probably be minimal but I still don't like the smell of it. Plus, I got a bug in Fallout 3 where my being allowed into Rivet City wasn't registered properly (but the necessary dialogue options are no longer available), so they think I snuck in and all the guards open fire whenever I try to go there. It's blocked my progress until I figure out how to fix it with the console somehow. I have a painful feeling in my gut I'll get the exact same bug in Skyrim. It doesn't sound like they've put an insurmountable block in the way - __I doubt it's the case__, but they could have done something like that to ensure you were 'a reasonable level' before entering the city. Mostly, I suspect, it's a "role playing" event. (hopefully bug free ... go to the swamps for bugs ; ) )

It's simply part of the roleplaying features.
AltreU
There simply might be special circumstances for Whiterun. I guess they could make sense out of it either way. If a mod changing such a thing wouldn't impede on the story, I may just make/use one. Looking back at that thread on the Beth forums, I notice one guy posted what the options would be and the last one was the shout, Fus Ro Dah, but he worded it wrong. I thought about it and it'd be funny to see, from the guard's perspective, a guy come up and yell some gibberish at you real loud and freak out when nothing happens.Guard-http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/armscrossed.gifProtagonist-http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/yucky.gifGuard-http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/dry.gifProtagonist-http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/huh.gifGuard-http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/down.gifProtagonist-http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/psyduck.gif, but later-http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/ninja.gif Edited September 7, 2011 by AltreU

LeopoldCrank
Further info..http://www.bethblog.com/index.php/2011/09/06/attack-of-the-nords/ hmmm, what do I have to do to get one of these? I think anything short of murder or sleeping with a transvestite is worth it... j/k ;) Sleeping with a pre-op patient? Funny story, I just got a magazine in the mail about a prostitution service that runs for MS patients... So it happens. I thought it was illegal :P As for the statue, I would gladly murder someone. Particularly if that someone was either Vince Zampella or Grant Collier, and I was sent back through time to 2001 :teehee:
