I don't see how playing a game on maxed out settings automatically means one would a beast of a machine. If I told you I could run pacman without a drop in FPS would you have any better idea what kind of pc I have? The other things is, does maxed out mean people who played the demo, witnessed the game in it's high textured form or what would still be compatable with the 360? I haven't seen anything that compares the two... Or maybe I have and just didn't realise it.

Looks fantastic! Can't wait to walk/stalk the streets of the major cities in Skyrim. Looks rainy in Solitude this time of year :tongue:

 

I know that in a previous post it was mentioned that people and animals will actually seek shelter from the elements in Skyrim. Let's hope this is true.

well... if you told me you can play pacman on maxed settings without a drop in FPS,.. I would immediately assume you had a crappy ass computer or were retarded... otherwise pacman wouldn't be the benchmark you set for a good gaming PC.

 

On a more serious note, I get what your saying- but you don't need to know whats in a computer to know if its good or not... a lot of what some people fail to understand that it isn't 'just' about hardware, but how well you get the machine to run on a whole.

Higher end, current gen games often end up as benchmarks for this purpose.

I personally don't care about others machines, or comparing to others- as long as my machine works as I expect it to.

uhhg.. I get so sick of these PC requirment topics popping up "THE WORLD WILL END IN 2012!! .. YOUR PC CAN'T RUN THE GLORIOUS SKYRIM!!" .. give me a break people .. its a console game.. CONSOLE ... GAME... Its not going to need monster rig .. Probably not even if your max it out. If you ran oblivion you will run skyrim ~_~ .. simple ... "oh oh.. but oblivion ran like s***!" your right.. it was poorly optimised .. but it ran like s*** even on the 360 .. "but Skyrim looks so much better!! it must need more!" Nope .. its still a console game .. its making cuts in other places to achive those shadows and shaders .. take a close look at the LOD pop in .. they are really pushing it and optimizing the engine to achieve all of this .. and they have a much bigger staff working on this game since oblivion and F3 .. F3 as very ell optimized and ran much smoother than oblivion as well as having better graphics "on a technical level" .. so don't worry so much!! .. the orld isn't going to end and skyrim isn't going to melt your PC ~_~; .. sheesh

that's my point, I don't see the point in speculation, nor am I so fearfull of a game working on my pc that I'm unsettled untill I find out well it works. I have played many games at well below the capabilities it was made for and never felt a loss of enjoyment if I played on the lowest settings with decent fps. I'm more concerned with if the story will be as encapturing as if I'd just picked up a great novel. I have some optimism that bethesda has a greater story this time that doesn't involve you traversing identical towers for some stones several times. I hope my optimism is not missplaced

I want to play Skyrim on my PC but since it seems really nice to play it on the xbox, with the controller and all, although it is made for the xbox in the first place, which can make the gaming experience better in a way. I'm worrying my PC won't be able to handle it on enjoyable settings. I still don't know if I'll buy both versions, to be honest. It's tempting.

I love concept art, simpy beautifull. Sometimes I wished the final visuals of a game would look like the concept art but in Skyrim's case, it pretty much looks picture perfect as it is. I mean it, I have a painting in the house that looks like that screenshot with the awesome mist shrouded mountains.
