ehy guys i'm having a bit of a problem...

I just check Can You Run It to see if my pc will be able to handle Skyrim on Ultra settings, however the program says that I reach only the minimum requirements because my GPU has only 735.2 MB of ram instead of 1 GB... but i have 2x ATI HD 6790 CrossfireX, how is it even possible?

Thanks in advance.

Can You Run It, is unreliable.

If you really want to try out a similar site, try this one:

http://www.yougamers.com/gameometer/10496/

It's quite precise.

Thanks for the link! I've never tried that site before. Also, I know 'Can You Run It?' can be unreliable, but these made me happy:

 Rub salt in the wound... I'm only just above minimum...

Both are unreliable. The one he said was precise said I have a generic VGA and don't make the system requirements. I have 16gb of 1866 DDR3 in this laptop, an i7 2630QM (think thats it) and a GTX 570m with a core clock of 700mhz, shader of 1400 mhz, and a memory clock of 1800. I blow crysis 2 up with this....

And can you run it says that my 570m has 4gb of ram, when it has 1.5gb of GDDR5....

Sorry, I don't mean to brag...but I would have been super-pissed if the rig I built specifically for this game wouldn't max it.

So I'm not the only one who spent at least $900 (that's what I spent, you could've spent more) on a computer for a $60 game http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/laugh.gif

Nope! I spent about the same: $900 or so, but it was to replace my old non-gaming rig which had wheezed its way through Oblivion after much cajoling and convincing. There's nothing quite as satisfying in PC gaming as building your own rig.

@Shroudedasylum: I'm sure these sites are unreliable mostly for lappys, as that's where I've heard most complaints come from. Anyway, I know I exceed all the requirements, it was just nice to get second and third opinions.

Dave's Preview is up... http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/451413-my-three-hours-with-skyrim-two-brave-bosmers-and-one-lying-khajiit/

SPOILERS ... btw this is a spoiler thread duh .. but I mean some spoilers from the article..

some new things to take from this ..

Lanterns can be used as traps

No way to select your companion's outfit without stripping them down

Some giants do attack without provoking

Dynamic AI seems about as stupid as I would expect .. Bethesda Devs are not the gods we often wish them to be

Companions are possibly immortal .. has anyone else reported this? .. It might have been due to him being a guest companion?

Also companions can play jeebus and walk on water ... I hope that water walking was an enchanted item or a spell the companion casted when crazyfool wasn't looking..

I heard the kids played tag, but I didn't know you could as well, pretty cool, nice little touch. It has quite a lot of these sort of things, and is shaping up to be a pretty sweet sandbox.....MODS!!!!!!!

I know right?!? It's little things like this that are already in the game that just mean that the mods are going to be even more amazing for Skyrim. I'm pretty excited! :woot:

No WAY!! :O .. I didn't read it... gonna read it now .. I'm so excited  .. I love stuff like this! .. omg omg .. I wonder if I can get my friend/companion to play with us  This is such a delightful little detail of immersion!

Kids playing tag with Dovahkiin was also confirmed in the PC Gamer article summarized here:

Sounds like Bethesda has really spent some time polishing this game, taking this into consideration I doubt there will be many bugs or issues that have plagued earlier games from Bethesda. Awesome news about the kids playing tag, there have been RPG games with kids in them before but they were little more than annoying floor decorations.<br><br>I know there has been much talk about having NPC characters as companions, but has there been any mention of having pets. It would be useful to be able to rest out in the woods with dog on guard while your character sleeps instead of getting that annoying message "you can't rest while enemies are nearby"<br>

Dogs are definitely available as companions. But as a pet, like it sticks around at your house and doesn't follow you around the world, I don't know.

I wouldn't be at all surprised that you can give instructions to companions. Like leave the dog home with the wife

You can give instructions to your pet (dog only) - or leave them 'home':

Animal companions - yes:

Companions can die (so maybe an option for ‘divorce’):

Can give companions weapons and armor - but they choose:

Only 1 companion at a time (but other NPCs may come):

I spent $2,800 for my Alienware M15x Laptop, and I only have a Geforce GTX 260m graphics card :wallbash: So wish I got a freaking desktop...

Ouch! Where'd you buy that from? Seems pricey.

I purchased it directly from the Dell website, had it shipped to Texas (I live in Australia) and had it picked up there. And I went through the whole customization process like an ignorant moron clicking on all the highest specs whilst not knowing the significance of any of them  I truly thought I was getting something magnificent

Oh well, saving up for Desktop now
