wcarnation
Hi, I'm trying to mod Oblivion and there's a few mod ideas I am curious about I'm looking for one which adds Spears to the game as a weapon, and mods in general which add more weapon types (crossbows, throwing weapons) Also looking for mods which add new skills to the game and new things to do And a mod which puts a 'helmet view' over your first person view when you wear a helmet And a mod which adds more combat choices for stealth characters (so I don't have to take a Combat skill like Blades) Thanks
WastelandAssassin
for spears, i think CLS CraftyBits (this is the name of the plugin, can't remember the name of the mod exactly) adds spears with actual spear animations, but then again, i'm really not sure about this as for crossbows, just search crossbowthere is one mod that adds crossbows made out of the original materials in the game (iron, ebony, glass etc) which you may like, and should be rather easy to find not sure about throwing weapons, but from what i recall, the mods i have seen do not add throwing weapons, they allow you to throw your weapons, such as daggers) new skills, as in Blade and such?? because i don't think such a mod was ever madeas for new things to do, there are plenty of great quest mods for thisjust open the Browse Categories section, and look inside the quest mods section, and the guilds and factions sectionthese should give you enough to do for the helmet thing, i'm sure it was done, but i can't remember a name of such a modjust search for something like 1st person helmet view or something and lastly, for more combat choices, i'm not exactly sure what you are looking for, but maybe Deadly Reflex 5 might do the trick, so look it up, and see if this is what you want (the cut-throat move is probably what you are interested in)
wcarnation
Yeah, I got deadly reflex and it is great. What I mean was like... stealth weapons. Kinda like Short Blades in Morrowind (a stealth weapon skill). In Oblivion you just have Marksman. Are there any Skill adding mods at all?

Are there any Skill adding mods at all? well, i have never got to play Morrowind (though it's on my list ), so i'm not really sure what this means, but i don't think i saw such a mod and like i said, i don't think there was ever a mod that added new skillsthere are plenty of mods that either modify the leveling system, or present a new one, but in all of the ones that i have seen, there were always the same 21 skills from the original game, never new ones
wcarnation
well, i have never got to play Morrowind (though it's on my list ), so i'm not really sure what this means, but i don't think i saw such a mod Yeah! It's great! Huh... weird no new skills. Thanks, though. Hopefully Skyrim has stuff like that. To explain the difference... Oblivion you have 'Blades' which are a Strength/Combat skill. Morrowind had both Long Blades-Strength/Combat and Short Blades-Agility/Stealth, giving Stealth characters a melee option (and keeping the Knights as the ones with the katanas) and making knives distinct from big swords. WastelandAssassin
well, it's a shame that Oblivion doesn't have this, but then again, as Oblivion was originally, stealth wasn't strong enough to one-hit-kill every enemy, so you would still have to fight in normal combat, so your blade skill wouldn't be left untrained (though it wouldn't train so much as well, but you have trainers for this ) anyhow, i'll have to give Morrowind a try, i have no doubts about iti've heard enough great things about the game, to get excited about it also, i think we are all excited about Skyrim as wellit's a long time from now,but we'll manage in the meanwhile
