Mechanical augmentation

Recently I've been reading through the "Gaunt's Ghosts," series, and have noticed something that could very easily be shifted to New Vegas without putting too much strain on the lore. "Augmentic," or bionic limb replacements. Within the novels, at numerous points, characters lose limbs, everything from shoulders to voice boxes. Now, since internal augmentations are already offered at the New Vegas Medical Clinic, it really wouldn't be too much of a "lore stretch," to allow for external ones. All parts would need the scripts attached to them to make them worthwhile and balanced, while the meshes/textures to show the newly "installed," limb.

Say an augmentic shoulder, allowing a slightly raised DR, increased strength by a point or so, and perhaps less weapon sway with heavy weapons. A model for this would simply be a more bulbous shoulder, something in the style of a rounded pauldron, being greater in size then a normal shoulder.

Or perhaps an augmentic voice box, allowing the player to have a higher speech, with the model being something akin to Darth Malik's (knights of the old republic.) "throat box."

Or maybe an augmentic hand, allowing faster refire rate. Models would simply be a robotic hand.

Augmentic ocular implants, replacing the eyes, and allowing thermal vision, nightvision, etc, similar to the powered power armor mod.

Obviously anything else would be fantastic. And of course negatives could be added. More than a few times in the series, when these electronic limbs collide with water, they short out and malfunction. So perhaps the cause negative marks to stats after swimming for a period of time. Less strength, and only able to use single handed guns. Inability to engage in dialogue, or decreased speech. Extremely slow refire rate. Blindness, or near to.

Either way, if any one would like to take this up in any way, shape, or form, please let me know, simply so I can follow the progress of the mod. I would love to see augmentations like these become a reality, whether they be the ideas I put forth, or ideas that are purely based off the idea of augmentics.
