GECK Help needed.

Hey there.

 

Basically, I just need some baaasic pointers as to how I could give a custom NPC (That I made through the GECK,) Would be able to give me some items, through the choices of dialogue.

 

Would I firstly need to place the items in the NPC's inventory?

 

Then, my second question is...

How in hell do I make new conversation files? I've looked through the Dialogue tab, at Conversations and Speech ( I think that's what it is,) and I can't right click to make a new file like I've been doing for the other things.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Everything to do with NPC's is handled through Quests. I had great success following this tutorial (it's a 2-parter):

In the quest you'll set up the dialog for your NPC. If the dialog says "gimme one of these" you put Player.additem (baseID for "these") 1 in the result script at the bottom of the dialog page. Your NPC does NOT have to have the item in their inventory.

Have you seen the dialog tutorials at geck.bethsoft.com?

 

The guides I've seen/looked at on the Beth Site haven't exactly... Addressed my issues, to say the least.

However, thanks to both of you for the input. Will have a look at these then come back with some more questions =P
