Sinnermann
Hello all, after the initial joy I had with vanilla Oblivion ages ago, I decided to give it a try last summer; after spending the whole day and night working on downloading mods, sorting them and reading guides - to make long story short - I wasn't really pleased with the end product. Since I am really dying for an immersible experience, I've decided to give it another try; I have decided I'd rather sacrifice the number of mods for some easy install and not having to worry too much about problems. I've decoded FCOM was just what I needed. Well, it did take me at least four hours - I am not sure at the moment - to get it all sorted out. I've followed these three guides: one, two and three. I've noticed there were some differences in dates, so I paid careful attention to that. There were just two problems: I wasn't really sure how to deal with MMM373BSA.7z and Optimized Bob's Armory BSA. They are both BSA and in the end I just placed them in data folder, failing to make them show up in either Wrye Bash or OBMM. Game loads just fine and since I am still in sewers, I can't say whether it's broken or not, but so far, so good. Much better than last time - I had loads of question mark meshes all over the place. Maybe it's because I still didn't use any mods outside of those mentioned within FCOM guidelines, but at least I believe this was a good start. I'm gonna attach my load order, if someone can be bothered to take a look. I will be extremely grateful. FCOM_Convergence_Mart's Monster Mod does not show up, so I am not really sure whether it's loaded or not; my guess is it's not, but I am not late to correct it, now am I? That's it for now, hopefully I have a good base to build on. :) Cheers all, happy New Year! Edited January 11, 2011 by Sinnermann
Sinnermann
When I start BOSS, it says: Special Mod DetectionFCOM not detected.OOO detected.Better Cities not detected. How come FCOM is not detected? Edited January 11, 2011 by Sinnermann
Smooth613
You have not properly installed it if BOSS isn't detecting it, simple as that. I suggest you wipe the slate clean and follow the information in the Official FCOM Thread for the best chance of success. This is the most accurate and updated thread. Also if you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 you should not have Oblivion installed in the default directory of Program Files, due to UAC. If you do you need to reinstall Oblivion elsewhere. For this I suggest you follow Bben's Reinstall Procedure. Good luck.
Sinnermann
Thanks. Reinstalled Oblivion and starting from scratch. The problem is there were so many FCOM guides and I tried to follow all of them, sort of figuring which information was the best. Meh. Gonna follow just that one now.
