HSovieticus
I used nifskope to change the floor texture of my new NVLucky38HtlHRmCorIn02 piece, but it turns out that the floor texture has 4 different textures in the one dds file. How do I tell nifskope or the geck that i want only one of those floor textures? Edited January 13, 2011 by HSovieticus
davidlallen
Highlight the area on your nif in nifskope, then right click->textures->edit UV, then drag the box around the dds to cover the area you want. See this thread for more information. Edited January 13, 2011 by davidlallen
HSovieticus
I see a grey box surrounded on all sides by another grey box which is translucent, and I see the floor polygons. Am I supposed to move the polygons to a certain place? The middle box? The outer box? One corner of the outer box? And if i get that done, is there some sort of okay or apply button? One of the corner pieces included in the game happens to use the same quadrant of the same texture. Is there some way to just copy and paste the UV data? EDIT: I have tried placing the floor mesh over top of the middle square, but I don't get the floor texture that i want, i just get some sandstone texture that isn't even in the dds file. EDIT: It seems as though my floor is using the ceiling texture. Any idea why? Edited January 13, 2011 by HSovieticus
davidlallen
1. If you have grey boxes, that means nifskope is not set up to load the texture files from your disk location. Add, or correct the nifskope directories under the render->settings menu choice, rendering tab so that you see the actual textures. 2. I opened the related model, nvlucky38htlhrmcorin01.nif in nifskope. See first screenshot. 3. I clicked on the floor and the white mesh highlight lines came up, then I right clicked and selected texture->uv map. See second screenshot. 4. Your model/texture must be different, but in the texture window, you can group select and drag the vertices around. If this texture file had multiple different sections, which it doesn't, I could drag the vertices to another section of the file. If that isn't clear, and/or that isn't what you are trying to do, please give a little more detail and maybe screenshots.
