I DL'd Boss due to advice and have used it for fallout 3 before but not for oblivion as I have only had oblivion a couple weeks now. Well, I dl'd the one with the installer and chose oblivion and when I run BOSS, Boss gives me this reply every time............

why do I need to download those mods just to have BOSS sort the ones I have?

You haven't properly installed BOSS. As the note says, check the troubleshooting section of the ReadMe for more information. It clearly describes your issue.

I'm not sure what you mean by downloading other mods to make BOSS work? BOSS is a self-sustaining application, meaning it requires nothing outside of it's own files to function. If you're referring to the lines that state XXX not detected, that simply means what it says. You don't have those mods, nothing more. Nowhere do I see where it says you need mod XXX to run BOSS. Where did you get that idea from?

The Special Mod Detection section does not mean you have to load those mods for BOSS to work. BOSS is just looking for specific overhaul mods which can affect how it processes the Masterlist (that it currently can't find) in it's next step.

Install BOSS correctly - it is now slightly different from the older versions of BOSS that you may have been used to.

Ok, here's what I did,

I connected to internet and ran BOSS again and it updated master list and sorted the mods with recomendations etc.

So, lol, all is well, I don't recall having to do that before but it worked :)
