XRE cars broke my game

Hey guys, I'm having some trouble with the XRE cars mod.

 

I'm getting back into NV, so I do a fresh install and download a bunch of mods (XRE cars among them) with Fallout Mod Manager. I use NVAC to fix a few crashes and finally I get it all working !

 

But once I got enough caps to buy the cheapest car key in goodsprings, I had my first problem: When I pressed E to drive the old truck I got the "quit & enable" message and my game crashed.

I did some research and manually modified the .ini file, everything works fine here. It does not get in "read only" mode by itself or anything. I managed to load my save (before I modified the .ini file my saves beyond the point where I bought the car key were broken and did not load anymore)

 

Now my problem is: I press E to drive and then I get a black screen for a few seconds, then my camera is stuck "outside" the truck and I can not do anything except press Esc to display the main menu.

 

Anyone ever experienced something similar ? How can I fix this ? I've been trying to use NVAC again but I forgot how to do the thing where it checks if all your mods are installed in the right order. I probably f*#@ed up somewhere when installing XRE..

I tried uninstalling / reinstalling the mod but now I'm back to the point where I try to load my save file and the game crashes after the loading screen with the spinning wheel.

 

EDIT: When I deactivate the XRE Cars mod with Fallout Mod Manager everything works fine. I don't get why this particular mod is messing things up.
