Vulpes as Follower/Companion

This would be a sweet mod for us pro legion players.

I think the idea of having the leader of the Frumentarii as a follower would be insane and awesome and could add more fun to the game. Plus we'd not have to travel all the time to hear his voice. Just turn and talk. And adding other fun mods already out could give him a much added everything. :D If anyone would want to tackle this (I saw someone is making Benny into a follower with more dialogue etc) that would win beyond winning. Anyone else feel the same way for a mod like this?

Yes. Vulpes Inculta as a follower would be to die for.

I support this wholeheartedly, for several reasons.

 

1. There is no Legion companion. If you do a Legion playthrough, you automatically alienate two companions (Arcade and Boone), and there isn't a single companion (other than, arguably, Cass) that support the Legion.
   
2. Vulpes is an awesome character, and he didn't have nearly enough screentime (other than those three quests).
   
3. Vulpes is a Frumentarius. He can easily put on disguises to hide his identity when you enter NCR territory.
   
4. Likewise, he would appreciate traveling with the Courier undercover to gain more information on the Legion. He's less likely to get caught, if he's traveling with the Courier who has a decent NCR reputation, simply to gether inside information.
   

 

Of all the Legion characters, Vulpes would make the most sense to have as a companion.

I wholeheartedly agree with this, as does a friend of mine. Purely for the same exact reasons as stated above, and the fact that I am completely Pro-Legion. Bethesda/Obsidian really needs to start adding one or two companions for the evil sides so we can have all our bases covered. Gives us more options. I was disappointed in the lack of Legion quests as it was. To not have a single possible companion was even more disheartening. I say more quests, and DEFINITELY Vulpes as a companion.

 

This needs to be done. So hard.

Since I see this thread pop-up so much I thought I'd interject a little idea to help you all to develop your ideas better.

 

I started a thread for custom companion ideas (By that I mean new people, so we don't mention Vulpes, Yes Man or Benny since they've already got threads like this.)

 

Anyways for that thread we have a guideline to avoid 500 copies of "I want a Legion companion" or "I CAN HAZ VOLPEZ PLZZZ!!!!"as an entire post. So that way people can actually post interesting and inspiring ideas

 

Heres the original post with some editing.

 

--------------------Suggested Guideline For future Vulpes Ideas--------------------

 

So when you post please try to follow this example so that people will actually read because it will then be interesting.

 

• 
   
  
• Name (Vulpes)
  
• Appearance (We all know how he looks, so you can skip this)
  
• Backstory (Very important, don't post if your character is supposed to just suddenly appear and help the courier who is likely a complete stranger)
  
• How do you meet them?, how do they fight?, and what factions they'd like, etc.
  

 

And then random ideas like Quests for them, Dialog, Banter, Companion Perk ideas, etc.

 

It's just an idea, you can ignore it if you don't like it but I felt it'd help make Vulpes more detailed.
