Arm stuck in out-stretched position!

Recommended Posts

My character's left arm is stuck in an extended position. None of the animations work properly, whether it's running or crouching, because her arm is permanently extended. Pulling the pip-boy menu up, it only comes so far into the screen because the arm is straight out rather than bent at the elbow. I think this has something to do with my belly dance mod but the problem only started yesterday, when I installed Readius. Deactivating either mods work. Could it be an armature problem? I tried re-assigning the default skeleton.nif to one of my outfits, but it didn't work.

Could someone kindly download the mod and tell me if the problem is present in it? The version available is a much older version that the one I'm working on, obviously, but if it's my mod that's causing this problem, I can't upload a faulty mod, can I? Here it is. Belly Dance Dresses

No, sadly, it didn't. I holstered/reholstered, in 1st and 3rd person, but it didn't make a difference.

I dont know what cause your problem, but it is not your mod that make it happen.

It is animation failing to reset. Try playing reset.kf U can get it in an animation mod, poses and dances mods.

The clothings and armors u make are having a "skeleton" it is only just bone markers.

Anyway readius mod adds new animation for pipboy activation.

This is known to be perfectly compatible with armor mods and other animation mods that do not alter male and female pipboy animation.

If u do not hav readius installed, u should not find the pipboy kf files in your meshes\characters\_male folder or subfolders.

Consider it a blessing that u are a magnet for technical difficulties! It make u stronger in the long run.

I suppose it comes to the advantage of others that I am a "magnet" for difficulties; I post my problems mainly with the intention of having a thread out there for others to find should they have the same problems.

Anyway, I'm going to try to uninstall all the Readius files and see what happens. This error only started happening after I installed Readius last night, and persists even when Readius isn't activated in my plugin list. Is the reset.kf by any chance in the Fallout BSA? If not I'll search around for it.

I dono if the reset.kf is in bsa. never seen it there. Anyway look there is other person who has a sticking out limb.

Maybe u can compare notes on the issue.

Being the other sticking animation issue person, you could check my thread, as I solved my problem.

Holy cow, that actually worked. Yes, after reading Jonas66's post, I noticed that my meshes had duplicate NiStrip names of the Bip L Forearm and Bip R Hand (both of which were stuck on my character's body) so I renamed them to Shoes and Necklace respectively, and it worked! I could see my pip-boy again.

Thanks a lot for the help! Now I learned my lesson about forgetting to rename duplicate NiStrips....

  • 4 months later...

Hmmm, I have this problem. Hand consistently stuck in an out-stretched position. When I am holding a weapon, the weapon is pointed sort of downwards (though I can still shoot straight. I have quite a few mods installed.

Now, I tried doing what was suggested, but... I am not a mod-creator, so... my knowledge level may be a tad too low. I installed Blender and that Ni-program, and I did see a double file (named 2 at the end) in the 'my body' folder, tried renaming that (simply through explorer), which didn't solve the issue. Not sure how or where I can rename these things in those other programs.

Any help would be appreciated... if you can stomach explaining this to a less knowledgable person.
