Elrandhir
It has probably been brought up, but following the given instructions even tho it differs abit depending on language of you'r OS, but if you have a somewhat good understanding of English it should be no problem, I still hope they fix this problem in some comming patch tho. To solve problems related to not being able to download, or if you have unauthorized content, that shouold be autorized try the following things. For pre Vista/WIndows 7 users- Shut down Dragon Age: Origins- In Windows, press the 'Start' button and select 'Run'- In the command line type 'net stop DAUpdaterSvc'- Navigate to 'My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings' and delete 'Manifest.xml' and 'Offers.xml'and 'addins.xml'- Navigate to 'My Documents\\bioware\\Dragon Age' and delete the 'Offers' folder- Navigate to 'C:\\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Application Data\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\' and delete the 'DAUpdater' folder- Navigate to 'C:\\My Documents\\bioware\\Dragon Age\\' and delete the 'AddIns' folder- In the command line type 'net start DAUpdaterSvc'- Restart Dragon Age: Origins and log in For Windows Vista/Windows 7 - C:\Users\All Users\Bioware\Dragon Age\ - Navigate to 'C:\My Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age\' and delete the 'AddIns' folder- In the command line type 'net start DAUpdaterSvc'- Restart Dragon Age: origins and log in If that wont do it, test this, Im not sure what actually fixed the problem as I just did it all :P Try manually starting the service, before you start the game, to see if this resolves your issues. 1.) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER 2.) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services. 3.) Right click it and select START If the problem still persists, then please simply run the game in admin mode. (This should always be done) You might actually have to do the parth in red several times if unlucky, because it dos'nt seem to save it at times, so if you encounter the problem again when starting the game, redo the steps in red. Marked the things that seemed most vital in red and with bold text. If you use steam, consider this also.3. Do not start the game using Steam. Instead navigate to the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dragon age origins\bin_ship" directory. You see the file DAOrigins. Right click on it, choose "Run as Administrator". Maby This should be moved to Technical support though. Edited January 15, 2011 by Elrandhir
Elrandhir
No offence, but even tho the modders here might be good, they will surely not make any larger contribution to any storyline in DAO, because making a good story, voice acting, and good encounters, and also makeing the NPC's and companions interessting is a lot more then afew moddders can handle, it would take a very long time and also a fair amount of people or it wil be half arsed. And I play the game for the story, interessting companions that may lead you on side quests, the nice voice acting, Encounters. Some halfarsed Ninja wtfpwn conversion of d00m. Enhancements to the story at hand or some good and well planned additions is another thing though. Edited January 15, 2011 by Elrandhir
