Abramul
Bosmer and Khajiit aren't sufficiently thief-oriented? If you're just cloning an existing race and modifying the stats, this should be easy. If you want a custom face, getting it to look good would be a bit harder. If you want a custom VOICE, don't bother.Take the time to consider if this will be balanced.
Johnay
Well that'd be a smart idea too but I don't really like what Khajiit and Bosmer's look like and I really want to learn how to play around with the models and textures of races and maybe even some weapons. So do you think that you could maybe lead me through the basics or show me a good tutorial? Thanks.

You have to have a lot of programs and stuff. You also have to be serious about it. Some of it isn't free!
Johnay
Thank you for all of the info guys. I am serious about learning how to fiddle with the set enough to get good at it. I will now search for some tutorials here but you mentioned something about more programs? What do you suggest I get?

I don't know if all of these are useful for making races though. Check out these, and see if there is anything more that you need. Good luck! If you have any questions feel free to PM me. I check it dozens of times a day.
Johnay
Is there anyway I can edit the face of say an Imperial face without using the bars to stretch it out and make it look scary and use my cursur to stretch it manually? Povuholo
Is there anyway I can edit the face of say an Imperial face without using the bars to stretch it out and make it look scary and use my cursur to stretch it manually? (TESCS for Oblivion) If you choose the npc and go to the face tab, you can use the right mouse button on the npc's face to edit it. Be careful though, you can make a mess of it pretty easily.

agent0002
C'mon people I need some answers. Please mmkay, i saw a few posts ago you were looking for programs to use for the models and textures, first, here is what i use NIFskope-you will have to use this, its for applying textures. you would know this already from following someone's link awhile back blender-EVERYONE uses this, if you are editing meshes. unless you wanna cough up whatever 5 grand it costs for 3ds max dxt bmp editor + paint program -what i use for opening/editing .dds files, there are others, i just don't know them. paint program - you have to use what you can get here. try looking up a "wink-wink" version of a good program, cause you don't want to be like me and have to use microsoft paint... and for those who say its too hard to do without reading up on it, no it's not, everything i know was taught to myself, without the aide of any guide or tutorial. im proof that if you stare at it long enough, you will learn it o_O. it might take you longer, depending on how fast or slow you are as a person, if you catch my drift. ok, as for your help in making a race...it sounds like you want to like cross breed a khajiit with a human? (i know you said racoon, but this sounds easier). what you might want to do is maybe just make an imperial race that uses khajiit hair styles. it might not be as extreme of an effect as you want, but it could get you started. as for size, there is i believe on the second tab of the race menu, an option for males and females of height and weight (might be scale, im not sure i haven't seen it for along time). 1.00 height and weight is the size of your standard humanoid (dark elf/breton maybe) with 1.10 being the height of a male high elf. so MAKE SMALL CHANGES. anything lower then like .7 is going to be wayyyyy to short, and freakish + unattractive. check what size bosmer are.
