All hold guards turn hostile to player faction

So I've recently encountered the problem of having all hold guards start attacking me and my followers on sight. The first time it happened I loaded a save from a few hours earlier, confirmed the guards weren't hostile, and went about my business, only to have them turn hostile again shortly afterwards. Both times it has occurred around the time I first travel to Castle Volkihar as part of the Awakening quest from Dawnguard.

 

I discovered that the RemoveFromAllFactions console command fixed the problem, and after some more experimenting with the CK and console I was able to determine that it is the PlayerFaction (00000DB1) which they are hostile to. While simply removing myself from that faction does appear to fix the issue, I assume that fix will cause more problems somewhere down the line. Is anyone aware of a 'cleaner' way of fixing this problem?

I've had this pop up a few times over the course of my Skyrim gaming career. Each time it's turned out to be a mod conflict OR a mod that just thinks it's cute to go and muck with a bunch of AI and faction settings without knowing what they're doing or testing their work. There may be other causes, but I'd start with process of elimination disabling of mods until you find a culprit.

There is several possibilities, so you'll have to provide more informations:

Are you a vampire when the guard begin to see you as a hostile?

If you sheathe your weapon, the guard continues to attack you?

Do you use CWO?

 

But, I can confirm that you can't remove to you the "playerfaction" without getting a tons of bugs.
