NickG
Ok I'm new to modding, so sorry if I ask a stupid question or something. I need help with meshes though.I want to make a new Axe or Sword. Except when I go to open the file: "Weapons" the only folder I have under that is one that says "Iron" and the only thing in that folder are 2 meshes called "battleaxerust" & "longswordrust" Where are the other 50000 swords from the game?I want to edit from like an akavari sword or something but all I have are those 2 meshes. Hope this makes sense. Thank you.
Abramul
You need to unpack your meshes before you can assign them.http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/TES4BSA
SickleYield
And here's a link to a tutorial: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index...word_in_Blender
NickG
Ok. Some problems:When I install the program and run it all I get is a black box that opens line in MSDOS looking thing and then just closes. I've re-installed it but I get the same results. AlsoWhen I just want to put weapons in a chest the only meshes & icons I can put in are some really weird ones.Like "arrow" & "weighted" icons. The only meshes I have are still the "iron" ones.
SickleYield
Actually I couldn't get that one to work, either. I use BSA Commander: http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=3311 The mod creator's first language is not English, but IMO he could teach the makers of TES4BSA something about user-friendly interfaces. That's the trouble with free programs, it's so hard to find a good GUI. :)
NickG
hahaha. Actually I believe I figured it out. Here I think this actually makes Tes4Bsa work.Haven't tested it though, exactly right now though I'm figuring it out.Link: http://forum.gamingsource.net/index.php?showtopic=25700

NickG
Thanks Crazy Fish that's really helpful. It's like everything I want to make is right there.Awesome. I'll see what I can make. Looks like I'm having more problems. (Surprise Surprise)I was flipping through the Re-texturizing tutorial & it seemed like a good idea to start with but when I want to open the file with Gimp-win-remote or whatever it won't let me I get a really strange error saying this: "Usage: gimp-win-remote.exe gimp-x.x.exe file 1 file 2..." & that's it.Any ideas? EDIT: Posts merged. Please don't double post, thanks. - Switch
Abramul
Do you have the .DDS plugin correctly installed? And are you using the latest version of GIMP?
NickG
I got the plug-ins except it came with 3 files. It came with the .DDS and 2 .DLL files. The tutorial says to put everything into the Plug-Ins folder. That's what I'm thinking is wrong.I don't think the .DLL files go in the Plug-Ins folder they probably go somewhere else but I don't just want to drop them anywhere because there's .DLL files in a lot of the folder.
