Smooth613
Are you using a save file that has had Streamline used with it before? If so, unless you've clean saved without Streamline, it will not initialize again upon start-up, since it's already initialized. Try pressing Ctrl-Home and see if the Streamline menu comes up in-game. If so Streamline is already running. You can then sync it with your current INI by going into the Special Actions section of the Streamline Menu and select the Sync with INI option, or similarly named option. Other than that I'd have to go with improper installation or some other issue such as UAC interference. Where did you reinstall Oblivion to? What directory? That's all I can think of since I've never had a problem with Streamline and have used it on many characters across multiple installations. Streamline is LO independent, meaning it doesn't matter if it's first, last, or anywhere in between, it works the same. So posting a LO won't get us too far, but it never hurts to PYLO when having issues.
TitanZ
I am experiencing this exact frustrating issue. I had Streamline 3.1 working yesterday. Did a complete reinstall of Oblivion overnight because I was having issues with another mod. Installed OBSE, Streamline 3.1, and the patch from the 7zip directly to OB/Data, started a brand new game....and no Streamline. Checked the install, reinstalled three times thinking I must have screwed something up. I can't figure it out. The only thing I kept when I reinstalled OB was my OB.ini. I guess I'll try the clean save, but a new game should have been clean, right?
chaospearl
I haven't ever had Streamline working, so the save isn't the issue. Checked to see if it was already running somehow; no go. However, I discovered that I CAN force it to initialize using the console. startquest slini2 -- and poof, I get the initialization message and it starts working, I can access the menus, etc. But I have to do that every time I play the game; it isn't saving the initialized status when I save my game. And I'm talking menu save, not streamsave or autosave. I load my last save, begin playing... no Streamline. I know it isn't running because the menu won't come up and it isn't doing a streamsave every 6 minutes like it's supposed to. I open the console, manually initialize it, and everything's fine. Streamline menus are accessible, streamsaves are being performed. Great. An hour later I save my game using the menu, and go have dinner. I come back, load that save, and... Streamline's gone. No menu access, no streamsaves, it's definitely not initialized. Again, I use the console, startquest slini2, and it works fine. I don't think it's worth the aggravation, seriously. The main reason I use it is for the autosave and I can get another mod to do that, one that actually works without my having to console initialize it every single time. Edit: Oblivion is in C:\Games\Oblivion. No UAC issues. Will post my load order shortly.
tonkrogerio
i had this problem often, i figured it out though, no one needs to ever worry ever again :D ok here goes, the problem is to do with saves, if streamline wont work, just save the game, restart and try loading the new save and if it doesn't work again, save, load new save and it will eventually work. Don't know why but i can run it all the time now using this method and after the initial first run it wont have any more problems.
megaflash102
For me, I don't even understand how to install streamline. I copied the performance esp and the sl.ini to the oblivion data folder, and whenever I open oblivion, I open the console and it says streamline inisionalosing (sorry, forgot how to spell it) but it never does anything else. I do OBSE, and if I have to, I'll glad activate it with the console.
xchargerfanx
I know this is an old topic but I'm experiencing the same problem right now. Are you using BAIN to install the mod? It's strange, before I switched to BAIN to install everything, I always used OBMM to install Streamline and other mods and they worked perfectly. However, ever since I started using BAIN, Streamline would not initialize at all. For some reason, something in Wrye Bash just fails to install the sl.ini or some other file in Streamline incorrectly. I then extracted the Streamline files manually and all of a sudden it worked perfectly. I really hope that this is the only mod that BAIN has trouble installing because I've used BAIN to install my 150+ mods already, and haven't been able to test all of them out yet.
