Guest Tessera
Yes, I'm sure we've all noticed how much "respect" males of the species normally exercise toward women who dress and behave in a sexy manner. In all fairness, I think that has a lot to do with how much respect they have for women in general. I don't think it stems from how a particular woman is dressed... that's just a convenient excuse for an underlying attitude problem (misogyny). If someone tends to single-mindedly objectify women, then no matter how they're dressed (or undressed), they'll never fully appreciate those women as thinking, feeling human beings. Surprisingly, there are almost as many women out there who are guilty of this repressive double standard. It's not merely a male problem; it's a collective sickness of the human race. Just ask any woman who wears a burqua and a veil. If, on the other hand, you fully accept -and respect- women as equals, then sexy clothing (or nudity) simply comes across as being naturally beautiful and as an assertion of her uninhibited sexuality. I can't imagine anything more truly liberating than that. 8)
