SmugFrog
Obviously, Skyrim is far enough developed in the modding community for this to be not as effective - but it could really be beneficial for Fallout 4. How many times have you had a housing mod that everyone else chooses the same location? It would really be beneficial if the Nexus had a map indicating either (or both) of these things: 1) A map indicating the location of current mods so a new author could avoid that area (especially of a well known or highly used mod) for designing a new item. 2) A map tab on the mod page, similar to the files, images, etc tabs, which displays a map of the game world or city, so you can see what areas that author has modified. Some authors already include this with a screencapture of their map, or by circling locations. I envision something like this from Interactive map _Standalone_ by hexagon06, but a standardized map for all mods would be better: http://static-7.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/2607-1-1323187957.png Even if each mod had it's own marked map (option 2) for the purposes of displaying to the user where it is located, that would be a plus. If it could be combined (option 1) to show all (or filtered based on the "top" files, because we know how many files get uploaded) locations for a certain type of mod (followers, houses, dungeons), then even better. I think about a google maps type interface using pins or symbology for that. Obviously, a combination of the two would be ideal allowing mod makers to see and plan their mod as well as allowing the end users to visual where the content will be placed. I just have a hard time visualizing where a mod is going to affect if it's just listed "outside of Riverwood" and you're not exactly sure based on the screenshots where exactly it is modifying.
