temnix
I have around 350 mods installed, most of them very small - bugfixes, gameplay changes etc., but some are larger. Oblivion refuses to run. I'd like to be able to merge what I have into a few files. Question: how?
SickleYield
If you get a program like Oblivion Mod Manager, it's just a matter of selecting the two mods in the list screen and clicking "merge." OBMM: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index...ion_Mod_Manager I have OBMM. Didn't know it could do that. Thanks! What about the conflicts it shows, though? SickleYield
People often merge mods to remove conflict, as I understand it. At least if you're talking about conflicts between appearance related mods (The Cosmetic Compilation conflicts with freakin' everything that adds eyes or hair or races). At least if you're talking about conflicts between appearance related mods (The Cosmetic Compilation conflicts with freakin' everything that adds eyes or hair or races). That was my experience, yes. I wonder how the conflicts are resolved in a merged mod, though? What overwrites what? I'd like to, for example, combine a few files from Natural Environments, not Natural Water, with a different water replacer I have. Shouldn't be a conflict there, but who knows? sixflavors
@SickleYield I've been using OBMM for a while ... its a great tool for managing mods. But I've searched high and low and clicked left and right and I haven't got a clue where the "merge" function you talk about is  . I can't even find the word "merge" in OBMM FAQ or help. Any chance of some more specifics ...
temnix
I think I figured it out. OBMM can't merge mods. Another tool by the same author can do "brute force merging" - which doesn't sound very good. I think the entries in plugins get overwritten there. The normal tool for merging, where the entries are added instead of overwritten is the TES4 Plugin utility. I just wished I could select two mods in the window there. :(
SickleYield
Whoops. Please accept my apology. It WAS Tes4Plugin that I used. I just use OBMM for so much other stuff that I assumed it was that one. Seriously, though, I've used Tes4Plugin with no problems at all.
temnix
Are you sure? Uhhh... what's going on? I can't think of any reason why I wouldn't be able to select more than one entry in a list! I wonder if that's only a problem with Java. But I have a fresh installation of it.
SickleYield
Were you aware that you have to choose them by typing numbers into the boxes next to each one on the list that you want to merge? It took me a couple of tries to figure that out, I recall.
