Arigato
Likely this has been answered somewhere already but I've yet to find it personally. I use the talkies toaster companion mod to form my own adventuring parties, and i like to 'deck' my allies out in the best armor. I already know putting in special weapons/etc is safe. And I know they'll use em. But I've always wondered.. Do companion NPC's use Custom potions/poisons you make? or do they go ignored in thier bags? Also, do they act like arrows and can put 1 in, and it last forever.. or Are they still consumable by the NPCs (one time use per potion)
David Brasher
NPCs use up potions and then they are gone. (Assuming that they encounter a time when it is proper to use the potion, and that they are a magic user and like to use potions. I have seen warrior types die with a backpack full of healing potions without drinking a single one to save themselves.) NPCs will poison weapons on a seemingly random basis and slowly use up their poisons. (If they had a better AI, they would use up their poisons much more rapidly than they do.) It does not matter if the potions are store-bought or custom made as long as they use vanilla Oblivion effects. I don't think NPCs would ever use script effect potions. ANd yeah, i was intending to use vanilla ingredients/effects, just... using min-maxing on the effects (4-6 effects on poisons/potions) Just have to make a ton. Which I suppose i can break my taboo rule and use the console to 'gather' the needed ingredients for such a large supply, since they wont be used by me for the most part anyway. Just make several hundred copies of them, make them as light as possible and voila. Thank you for answering this! and thak you for specifying that melee types can't get past the 'childproof cap' lol
