Im running my own Everquest emulator server so I have mysql 5.0.85 (i believe) running i know its below 5.1 because everquest emulator cant run with certain versions of mysql.

My question was. How can I set up the tool kit to work off of that mysql server?

I tried using local host and my normal user name and password in the advance settings but it still doesnt connect.

I have the Ultimate Edition of DA also.

Thanks guys I really wanna mod some stuff.

Short answer is, "NO. The DA Toolset requires Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition".

I presume that if you're enough of a DBA, you can figure out all of the entries that you would have to change to point to a different database, but *I* sure wouldn't want to try, especially because of the known user-surliness of the Toolset. There are probably tons of hard-coded menu items and internal references that look for the "expected" locations and functions.

But the Toolset itself comes with MS-SQL Server 2005 EE, so you can just install and go, if you want to use it...

Can that be installed along side MySQL 5.085 without problems that you know of?

If not i guess i could install the tool kit on a different pc

I have no idea if MySQL and MS-SQL can coexist peaceably on the same system. Give it a try and tell us what happens

Welp I have good news and i have bad news

Good news is i got the toolkit working

The bad news is im never going to be able to do anything useful with it because its way beyond my skills.

I was looking to change the shape shifting skills to make em more useful.

I miss the old days of baldurs gate 1 editing. That was easy :(
