Console Use

Hello there,

As you probably gathered by the topic, I'm pretty new at messing with the game's code. Now, I downloaded a weapon mod and I'm supposed to install it using the console; problem is I don't really know how to use the console. So I'm asking for help.

Anyone know of a good tutorial for using the console to insert changes into DaO? If you don't, could someone guide me through it?

Much obliged,

Red

Welcome, RedLocque!

Google.

"dragon age console".

First hit: "Wiki - Dragon Age Console".

45 seconds, including typing this. (But I'm a slow typist...)

Give us a hard one next time! ;)

Heyas Red, welcome to the nexus! :)

check out the link that Thandal provided. That will tell you how to activate the console, and what to do if you have the "invisible text" issue with it. (Basically you're game install didn't install the fonts for the console).

Once you've got it activated you tap the ` key on your keyboard, which is in the upper left hand corner of the keyboard. Then type out the command to run such and such script. Such as runscript zz_additemX (thats just an example, not an actual script). And then tap the Enter key, on your keyboard.

Its pretty simple as long as the script executes correctly.

Now also be aware that some scripts can't be used except when you are on the main character, not on some of your party members. Dog and Share are particularly bad about that for some reason.

Hope this helps :)
