CabooseNor
Hi fellow modders! I can not for the love of me figure out how to make normal shotgun shells (not slugs) count headshots and apply the headshot multiplier in real-time. In VATS it works, if you shoot someone with metal armor in the head with a shotgun shell in VATS, they will probably die. The same goes for slugs in realtime, which is good. But for the love of... if you shoot some someone in the head with a normal shotgun shell in realtime, you will not do any extra damage at all. Does anyone know how to fix this? CabooseNor
OK, so it turns out it wasn't the headshot multiplier not counting. I do extra damage with headshots even with buckshots. But - in VATS a buckshot to the head kills a human with metal armor in one shot. Out of VATS it takes 2. After further investigation I think the problem is that Damage Threshold reduces the damage done on each pellet of the buckshot outside of VATS. (Slugs kill in 1 headshot out of VATS but slugs are supposed to do less damage assuming all pellets of the buckshot hit) I'm guessing that Damage Threshold is only applied once when in VATS? Instead of once per pellet? This is my only explanation so far. Anybody notice this too? Anybody agree or got another theory?
