Sekken360
Well, I am loath to ask for help here, but none of the tutorials I've looked at were very helpful and I didn't find anything else on the forums about this. My problem is this: I'm trying to mod some game settings in GECK, namely fCombatRelativeDamageMod. So I've installed GECK, I loaded FalloutNV.esm, saved a new plugin, made it the active file, doubled the damage mod in game settings (actually quadrupled so I could be sure to notice the difference when testing), saved the plugin again, opened the launcher and made sure the plugin was checked (not using any other mods - load order is FalloutNV.esm then MyMod.esp), launched the game and tested it, but it never works. What am I doing wrong? This should be simple! Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.
LtRhapthorn
I don't think the value shows on the weapon in your pip-boy, it applys when the bullet hit's the target.
Sekken360
I don't think the value shows on the weapon in your pip-boy, it applys when the bullet hit's the target. Thanks for the reply. That's the thing though, it doesn't seem to be applying at all. I jacked it up to 9 times default, but it doesn't seem to make an appreciable difference in combat. I still have to shoot people a half dozen times in the head to kill them. It seems my other modifications are being applied though (level up no longer increases hitpoints, for example) - is fCombatRelativeDamageMod the wrong variable? I'm trying to double global damage, basically recreate some parts of Fallout Wanderers Edition to make combat more unforgiving for all involved. Sekken360
Well, I gave up for now, but luckily I found a mod that does what I wanted to do and more, the Game Settings Tuner ( http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39157 ), which is inspired by FWE settings among others. Hopefully it's compatible with XFO's loot rarity mod too, then I'll be just about set. I have one more question though, I hope someone can answer this - I searched and couldn't find it, although I found another post asking about it - how do you increase the damage multiplier for headshots? I know there's a mod out there for this but I'd like to be able to do it myself in GECK... EDIT: Nevermind, I think I found it in DefaultBodyPartData under Actor Data / Body Part Data - I'm assuming male applies to female humans as well. New question: does PlayerBodyPartData refer to the player character? Edited January 21, 2011 by Sekken360
