Jermungand
How time consuming would it be to just create a landmass? No trees, no buildings, no creatures, no anything---just a topographic landmass the size of the original game's area? very time consuming If it's not too much to explain, do you think you might tell me how come? Like, this is the kind of thing where I should be able to just draw up a grayscale and render it in 3D. Seriously. dovahkiin187
I'm sure that when Bethesda shows it, everyones concept of what can be done and how it is done will be changed leaving your jaws dropped and your eyes opened in the process, Just look at what they are doing with the Hero engine! Remember, simplicity in the ways we do things are sometimes the best ways giving us creativity and freedom! "THNKTSDTHBX IOUIEEO"
AltreU
Creating landmass itself doesn't take all that much time; I've got a mod with a fairly large landmass on the site and just the bit that I made took about 2 days. It's the details (what textures to use, where to place what, what's the elevation) that would take up the most time. Designing various parts of landscape to have mountains, beaches, plains, forests, and such are also something to take into account, but none of this is so difficult that a group of 6-14 people couldn't do it. It may not be a full world with tons of dungeons, but stuff like that can be worked in with updates. But then again, How time consuming would it be to just create a landmass? No trees, no buildings, no creatures, no anything---just a topographic landmass the size of the original game's area?If that's all you're looking for, I'd estimate that it would take maybe a month, depending on how many provinces you want.
