Guest Messenjah
So, the plans for my strip club mod have changed a bit. Right now, I am going to tech college in the Information Technology Systems program in order to gain my associates degree. This is my first semester. Originally, I planned to shuffle off my work to JoshNZ for a few months in order for him to set up some of the special effects inside my night club such as timed lighting, music, and custom dance animations. However, he has had a rather important personal setback so I figured I would pick up the project during the 3 month long Summer break. It looks like I may not have a Summer break however. I will have a short, week-long break until the Summer semester and then we will be starting hands-on data cabling classes during the length of the Summer until July 9th. The bad news for me, is that this will complicate life for me immensely and I may not get this project done by the end of the Summer. The GOOD news is though, that after two years of development, I am NOT going to close development on this project, I have simply worked too long and hard on this to let it go to waist. It does mean that I need to re-organize it and I am in strong hopes that someone will be willing to jump in and help develop some of the heavy lifting script-wise unless Josh can find some time to jump back on the project and take that on himself. I also will require some help trying to get the AI packages going. I am not a scripter and I don't have a lot of time anymore to try and take this on, on top of my current classes. The project WILL take longer and I will have to work on it once in a while, when I "might" have 2-3 spare hours during the week days. I am simply going to have to find a way to "make" time. For the next few months, I'm going to try and adjust to my new schedule and figure out how to manage my time and stress better. I will try to take on a few small goals such as re-making the outfits for the club dancers, writing story and dialogue scripts for voice actors to use (not the kind you find in-game but the kind you read off from a paper in order for my voice actors to use), and rigging one of my two walk-in closets, inside my apartment as a sound booth for voice acting. So, sorry for the long intro but just so everyone has an idea of what is going on, I need to start thinking about voice acting and planning story and dialogue so that I can start doing voice overs for this phase. So, some topics I need some assistance with, are: Rigging a home-made sound booth: From what I understand, I can find some big, thick curtains or blankets and layer them inside a walk-in closet in order to prevent reverberation and echoing. The closet should also prevent outside sound from entering and keep the sound of your vocals focused. Finding a decent mic: I need a good microphone that is reasonably cheap. I don't have the money for expensive sound equipment. I need a USB vocal condenser microphone. I can make a pop filter out of nylon and I can make a hoop with some hanger wire to stretch it over and mount it to the mic. I decent stand or shock mount will also be something that would be nice to have but it needs to be on the cheap. I'm only going to use this for creating video tutorials, web blogs, and voice overs for Fallout 3 and New Vegas dialogue so I probably don't need anything super-fancy but I need something decent. If anyone has any suggestions, please post them or send them my way. Locating voice actors: Does anyone have any tips on locating some good voice actors? I'm assuming I could probably go to a few websites, where voice actors post their information up for projects and see if they would be interested but I would imagine that I could probably get a better response for Fallout fans. I do require that you create some kind of home-made sound booth and that you use something better than computer microphone, preferably something like I'm setting up. Mind you, I am keeping dialogue to a minimum for most general characters. There WILL be a couple of characters that you will be able to get into depth with but I want to keep things as easy, manageable, and professional as I can for this project. The idea is to create a mod with atmosphere that the player will want to and can visit over and over, use as a resource for obtaining certain services (bounties, hit contracts, different kinds of rare food items) ecs, that has a really great and unique atmosphere, and looks, sounds, and feels like a natural part of the game. I want people to feel like it is almost essential to their Fallout New Vegas experience. So dialogue and voice overs are heavily required for this task. TheSanguineVixen
Hey, I was just reading your post and noticed that you needed help finding voice actors? I am a voice actress and gamer myself so I would be more than happy to do a few test samples for you if you would desire it. Feel free to send me a message anytime :)
simplywayne90
Hmm didn't read your post honest, bit too long for me since I'm a bit too tired from not sleeping, however should you or any modder need voice actors I made a thread for such needs. Voice Actors For Modders, And A Place To Offer Your Own Voice For Mods Best of luck with your mod I guess!
