modder3434
Nexus Mod Manger can be buggy as its still in beta as I recall. I have an older version and it runs fine, but then again i only use it for Skyrim to control load order and such, all the other games I have - Morrowind- Oblivion- Fallout 3- Fallout New VegasHave there own Mod manger (In Fallout's case Fallout Mod Manger works for both) I also install most of the mods I use by hand (manuelly a.k.a old school), about 90% of them, minus the 10% from steam workshop or the few mods that use the obmm or fmm ready install format. modder3434
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EIGXbKafPs Here is a video with steps but the basic gist is this: Step 1: Locate your New Vegas folder, by default (unless you told steam to install somewhere else) your folder is in Computer> C Drive (Local Disk) > Program Files (or Program Files x86 if you have it) > Steam > SteamApps > Common > New Vegas Step 2: 99% of mods you want to use will need to be placed in the folder that says "Data" this folder contains all the game information, models, textures etc. Step 3: Most mods when download and opened in either WinRaR or 7 Zip, (if you don't have either get one (I use Z zip)) will only show either a mesh folder, texture folder, an esp, an esm or all of the above. In that case open the data folder and manually drag the folders from the download into the data folder. If its a vanilla install with no mods then there are no previous mesh or texture folders, thats normal, just drag and drop. If these folders already exist, then the computer will ask if you wish to merge...hit yes. Assuming you don't have mods that conflict with each other (most major mods have a list of incompatible ones) everything merges and is fine. Step 4: Activate (check the box) on these mods in Fallout Mod Manger and arrange your load order, get LOOT or BOSS and it will do it for you. Step 5: Play the modded game ****SIDE NOTE***** If the mod requires NVSE, google it download it and place everything the launcher, the dll files in the New Vegas Folder (the one that contains the data folder, and the NV launcher etc.
